My Mini Haul from the Gap X Cult Gaia Collaboration (and What Made the Cut)
When I heard about the Gap X Cult Gaia collab, I didn't hesitate. I'm a sucker for a good fashion collaboration, and let's be honest—Cult Gaia is practically synonymous with their eye-catching silhouettes, while Gap has that classic, timeless charm. I figured these two would be the perfect mix of bold and wearable. Naturally, I decided to go all out and order multiple pieces because who has the time for "one item at a time" these days?
First on the list? The red cardigan. I imagined throwing it on over everything—going to class, work, and maybe even dinner where I wanted to look like I didn't try too hard (but did). But once it arrived, it was more statement than I expected. The fit wasn't quite right, and I felt it was more holiday party-inspired than Ralph Lauren-esque. Sadly, this one got returned.
Then there was the denim jacket. In theory, this was supposed to be the pièce de résistance—a traditional denim jacket with an asymmetrical button detail. However, the jacket's sleeves were too short, and that's not the vibe I'm going for. Back it went.
And who could resist the gold hoodie? I decided to step out of my comfort zone and embrace the metallic leisurewear trend. Spoiler alert: I looked like I was auditioning for a futuristic dance crew. Someone else could pull off the gold ensemble, but it was too much for me.
Ultimately, I kept the pieces that felt the most like me and fit the best. And the other pieces? They weren't enough to get a spot in my crowded closet. But that's the fun of trying new collaborations—you win and return some.
Now, who's ready for the next one? (I know I am.)
